The Port of Ensenada is located in the northwest corner of Mexico, in the state of Baja California, a strategic point in the Pacific basin, just 110 kilometers from the border of Mexico with the United States of America and at the head of the Municipality of Ensenada, bordering to the north with the states of California and Arizona and to the south with Baja California.

For the movement by land of the cargo that has as origin or destination the port, the three most important roads are the Tijuana – Ensenada highway and the Tijuana – Ensenada and Tecate – Ensenada federal highways. The highway is of high specifications (4 lanes and 2 bodies) and through it the largest flows of cargo handled are transported. The three roads indicated are the basic links to connect the Port with the main road network of the United States of America.

It is a marine port of the coastal breakwater type, with terminals of national and international lines, it should be noted that within the international lines, the Ensenada Port maintains import and export activity with countries such as China, Korea, Japan, the United States, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Panama, Russia, Venezuela, Jamaica, Nicaragua, among others and within the operations in the port system there are: Containerized cargo, general cargo, agricultural bulk, mineral bulk, shipyards, fluids, fishing, marinas and cruises.

Currently the lines that arrive at the port of Ensenada are: APL China Shipping, CMA-CGM, CSAV, Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk, NYK and MOL and the main import goods that arrive at said Port are Wheat, Metal-Scrap, Seafood, Electronics, Pork, Cotton, Toys, Glass.

Having received the Maritime Prize of the Americas (WFP); for becoming the first green port in Mexico and the second in Latin America; The Port of Ensenada, considers starting an alliance with the research and efficiency company of RightShip, which allows to reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions in the port. Firstly, by implementing a programme, which will have the task of making ships less polluting.
